Personally I believe in God, and from a political stand point, you'd probably call me conservative.
Though I was raised in a religious house hold, I'm not a very religious
person. Like I said, I personally believe in God and I don't force my
opinions onto others. When it comes to gay rights, I support them.
Why
wouldn't god want people to be happy? If two people love each other,
why shouldn't they get married? I think many religious people take
what's in the bible and twist things around to make it say what they
want it to say. Not all religious people do that, nor do they judge
others.
Unfortunately there are religious people that do. I don't
like to judge others based on their religious views, political views or
sexual orientation. To me that's stupid. There could be someone you
could be friends with if you didn't have a very skewed way of thinking.
People
should live how they want, within the reasons of not murdering people
or robbing them, etc., while having the government being relegated to be small. I view the bible's old testament with all the
violence, slavery and other horrible things as how we should look at the
past and do what we can and not repeat the horrible things our
ancestors might have done hundreds, of thousands of years ago. It's basic history when you think about it. Particularly since history does tend to repeat.
Because
shouldn't we evolve better as humans so that ourselves, our children
and their children, etc. can learn from the mistakes that were made by
the actions people made before us? Us learning how to better ourselves
and help others, no matter how different they are is the only way the
world can get better, yet unfortunately there's gonna be some dick
that's gonna cause problems and further holding us back to make things a
better place.
